State PAS information chief Zahid Ibrahim says the state chapter is focused on ensuring stability following the central leadership’s decision to cut ties with Bersatu.

Its information chief Zahid Ibrahim said the state chapter has accepted the decision made by the central leadership despite the challenges arising from the move.
“But we understand the reality that we move as a single organisation. Perlis PAS has accepted the decision made by the party’s central leadership. There are no objections,” he told FMT.
Yesterday, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang announced that the party had ended its political cooperation with Bersatu led by Muhyiddin Yassin.
On June 4, Perlis menteri besar Abu Bakar Hamzah, from Bersatu, said the state government would remain under Perikatan Nasional (PN) and continue governing until the end of the current term.
Zahid said Perlis PAS remained focused on ensuring stability in the state administration. “For now, the administration remains unchanged. We may hold a meeting within the next day or two,” he said.
On whether ending political ties with Bersatu at the state level would go against the Raja of Perlis’s wishes for the state government to complete its term, , Zahid said Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail’s call aimed to prevent any attempt to bring down the government through a vote of no confidence.
“If the menteri besar wishes to seek an audience with His Royal Highness to dissolve the state assembly, it is up to Tuanku whether to accept it or not.
“That is because dissolution would lead to an election. But a vote of no confidence would create another crisis,” he said.
On June 3, the Raja of Perlis Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Jamalullail expressed hope that menteri besar Abu Bakar would lead the state government uninterrupted until the end of the 15th state assembly term.
Speaking at the opening of the fourth session of the 15th Perlis state assembly, he said administrative stability was essential to ensure that development plans could be carried out smoothly for the benefit of the state and its people. - FMT
