Will Hindraf ask Nambikei Najib to act on racists?

YOURSAY 'While one Umno-sanctioned pressure group insults the Hindu religion big time, another Hindu rights group begs Umno to support them.'

PKR: Probe Perkasa veep for insulting Hindus

your sayFerdtan: Thank God that rascals like Perkasa's vice-president Zulkifli Noordin, the former PKR Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP, is no longer a member of Pakatan Rakyat.

He is now serving a new master - Umno through Perkasa. Wherever he goes, he is trouble. He knows next to nothing about Hinduism and yet he has temerity to insult other people's religion.

Zulkifli is supposed to be a well-versed Muslim lawyer and yet he does not have the humility of a good Muslim. A good Muslim does not insult other religions. The disparaging remarks made by him against Hinduism show that he knows nuts about the religion.

Hindu idols, the bathing in the Ganges River to cleanse oneself and the breaking of the coconuts, are all very meaningful and symbolic acts. Islam too has symbolic acts that are important to the religion.

If an MP doesn't know that, he should be damned. Zulkifli speaks on Umno's platform through Perkasa, and if the Indians are still not insulted yet by his statements and still want to support BN, then they get the government they deserve.

Pukalenthi: This is a big insult to Hindus. This failed MP is creating disharmony among the religions. The authorities should take stern action against him. Good, religious and well-mannered people wouldn't preach in this manner.

Ubah Lan...Bila Lagi: All those millions who have heard PM Najib Razak utter ‘nambikei' (trust) should now ask him now, what ‘nambikei' is he talking about?

What action is he going to take on this MP who has insulted another religion? If this is not blasphemy, what is it?

Opah: While one Umno-sanctioned pressure group insults the Hindu religion big time, another Hindu rights pressure group begs Umno to support them.

Jiminy Qrikert: Hindraf should find this as sufficient cause to include in their discussion with Najib a demand for BN and BN-friendly parties like Zulkifli, Ibrahim Ali, Perkasa and Ridhuan Tee Abdullah to stop attacking Indians over their origins and religion.

From being insulted as ‘pendatang', these Umno ‘ketuanan Melayu' and ‘ketuanan Islam' bigots now raise the stakes and attack religion as well. Zulkifli has not only insulted and ridiculed Hindus, his attack should be seen as an attack on non-Muslim Malaysians as a whole.

It wouldn't take much to progress from there to attacking Buddhists and Catholics, who also have statues in their places of worship.

But since Hindraf champions Indians, primarily Hindu Tamils, and they are waiting for Najib to summon them again, movement leader P Waythamoorthy must demand that Najib stop such attacks against Indians when they next meet.

Anonymous_3f15: Let's say for the sake of argument, that it was the other way round - what would happen if somebody made such a remark on Zulkifli's religion? I think there would be big hoohah and expect a massive demonstration.

P Dev Anand Pillai: Even after the Umno Malays insult them like this, the Indians are still proud to go back to Umno and vote for them. For some loose change, a box of Kentucky Fried Chicken and a bus ride, the Indians would vote for the BN again.

They can never be changed. Hindraf and HRP may not want to comment on this matter because it may not be on their blueprint, which is currently on sale to the highest bidder.

Dont Just Talk: What do you expect of a half-baked political frog named Zulkifli Noordin. When our religion teaches us to respect people of other faiths, to love one another, this self-righteous country bumpkin thinks that he is above everyone, even those sharing the same faith like him.

It is not the religion that is bad but people like this frog and pro-BN academic Ridhuan Tee Abdullah, with their narrow minded thinking, who bring shame to their great religion.

Apolitical Observer: Remember who this Zulkifli is - a close buddy of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim. I still remember how Anwar used to talk when he was the principal of Yayasan Anda Akademik in the early 80s.

When Anwar was the finance minister he mocked the Hindus during one of his budged speeches when giving tax exemptions for some of the Hindus prayer items, to the laughter of the MPs. Has Anwar changed? I don't think so.

Thinking: Too bad he is now with BN, so he gets immunity from the law like Perkasa. If he was still in PKR, police reports would already have been made and sedition charges brought against him, not to mention protests by Perkasa.

I dislike religion being insulted, especially by religious-looking people. They look good on the outside but smell bad inside. Why insult a religion?

Mat Salleh: Isn't this how Umnoputra Muslims earn a bad name for Islam? One does not have to ridicule other religions to win political brownie points.
But knowing Najib - the PM who has lost his marbles - these Zulkifli types are the ones who will be nominated for a Parliament seat. Go figure who you want to vote for.

Kuning: This happens when the vessel is empty inside. Outer garb, obeisance, worship and declarations of faith are of no use when one is devoid of spiritual experience, taste and wisdom within.

Headhunter: No matter how much hate or insults he spits out, the authorities will not punish him because he's not in the opposition. We all know how the BN government works: it's one law for them and one law for the rest of us.

Borg Kinaulu: I pity those who insult other people's religion by displaying their ignorance of other religions.

Similarly I pity those who feel insulted by others' display of ignorance of your religion, because being insulted means you too are ignorance of your own religion. - Malaysiakini
