The party's deputy secretary-general Steven Choong told the People's Tribunal on GE13 that the election regulations state that the advance voting ballots must be in the custody of the returning officer (RO) appointed by the Election Commission.

"If it's in the police lock-up cell, it's not under the custody of the RO," said Choong, who was a candidate for the Tebrau parliamentary seat in the May 5 general election.
