Accountability and the Malaysian treasury - Ranjit Singh

This needs to be dicusssed in the public domain as it involves public funds. In the run up to President Barack Obama 's visit to Malaysia, the Ministry of Finance was arranging for 5,000 young entrepreneurs to meet the US President.
I don't see the point in the meeting but that is not the issue. The issue is the cost of gathering the 5000 budding entrepreneurs from all over the country which has not been disclosed by the powers to be.
When the Treasury secretary-general, Tan Sri Dr Irwan Siregar Abdullah, was asked about the cost of the event, he said the costing had not been done yet.
The public have a right to know about the funds which were spent on this project and the government's lack of disclosure on this matter casts more doubts on the Putrajaya's stewardship of public monies.
The rakyat have to apply pressure so that this matter can be cleared once and for all.
Failure to do so means that heads must roll.
