UTUSAN LYING AGAIN? Bukit Aman denies article claiming actor given SWAT training

UTUSAN LYING AGAIN? Bukit Aman denies article claiming actor given SWAT training
Umno mouthpiece, Utusan Malaysia, has time and again been found guilty in court for producing inaccurate and misleading reports, and in its latest slip up, has managed to offend the nations' men in blue.
In its page 6 report published Jan 17, the newspaper claimed that film director cum actor, Farid Kamil Zahari, "had broken tradition by becoming the first celebrity to undergo Unit Tindakan Khas (UTK) training."
According to the report, the actor is allegedly undergoing training at the Maktab Teknik PDRM in Muar, Johor and that he is doing so on his on initiative.
This and other claims he allegedly made, caught the attention of numerous security personnel as they knew three important things, the first being that the identities and the training locations of all UTK personnel have never been made public for security purposes.
Second, is the fact that the Maktab Teknik PDRM in Muar, Johor has never been a place where UTK training is conducted.
And lastly and most critical, a civilian has never been allowed to attend tactical training.
Denial
Despite the issue looking to be a minor one, perhaps even one of miscommunication, the Royal Malaysian Police headquarters in Bukit Aman deemed it as being serious enough to issue a statement near midnight on Friday Jan 17.
Bukit Aman in its statement denied giving UTK or similar styled training to any civilian including Farid Kamil.
The statement which was released by ACP Datin Asmawati bt Ahmad also advised all parties to not connect Bukit Aman to any inaccurate information so that difficulties does not occur.
Farid, who is currently a Royal Malaysian Police reservist, had previously caused a furore when he chose to don a hod-podge combination of police and military uniform during his marriage ceremony late 2012.  - Harakahdaily
