Firm controlled by Umno's water tycoon Rozali among those given dubious UiTM contracts

Firm controlled by Umno's water tycoon Rozali among those given dubious UiTM contracts
KUALA LUMPUR - A company owned by Tan Sri Rozali Ismail, the Umno-linked millionaire who heads Selangor water concessionaire Syabas, was among six firms awarded lucrative build-and-rent concessions for University Teknologi Mara (UiTM) campuses, PKR’s Rafizi Ramli alleged today.
Continuing his expose on the matter, Rafizi said the contract to build UiTM’s Puncak Alam campus in Selangor was given to TRIplc Ventures Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of TRIplc Bhd.
According to the Pandan MP, TRIplc is made up of several companies owned by Rozali’s family members and proxies.
“I am estimating that Tan Sri Rozali Ismail owns at least a 43 per cent stake in TRIplc through companies owned by him and his family members as well as those linked to him.
“This makes Tan Sri Rozali Ismail the biggest shareholder in TRIplc and the concession to privatise UiTM Puncak Alam which is TRIplc Ventures Sdn Bhd,” Rafizi, who leads PKR’s whistleblowing efforts, told reporters in Parliament here. -Malaymail
