UiTM project concessionaire revealed

The Pandan MP says it was the prime minister who confirmed that the project was awarded to Umno-linked millionaire Rozali Ismail's company during question time in Parliament on April 10.
rafizi_rozali_300x200KUALA LUMPUR: Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli has revealed that the UiTM Puncak Alam campus project has been awarded to Umno-linked millionaire Rozali Ismail.
Rafizi said the UiTM project was awarded to TRIplc Venture Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned company of TRIplc Berhad, of which Rozali, his family members and close friends were major shareholders.
Rozali also owns Puncak Niaga and Syabas as well as Felda Non-Governmental Organisations set up by him.
Rafizi said Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak confirmed that the project was awarded to TRIplc Venture during question time in Parliament on April 10.
He added that the 2013 annual report of TRIplc Bhd showed that Rozali controlled at least 43% of the shares in TRIplc through shell companies as well as shares owned by three of his children and friends.
This makes him a major stakeholder in the UiTM Puncak Alam project.
“When it is not open tender and given directly to a company, it will revolve around connected people and ‘special’ people like these,” Rafizi said in Parliament lobby today.
He said there was a need to review the way concessions were awarded.
He added that he would meet the Auditor-General after revealing all recipients of the six UiTM projects so that the concession agreements could be included in the next audit.
