‘Secret’ letter proves Selangor lied on open tender claim: Chegubard

The Selangor government has been accused of "lying" over the tender of a land-clearing contract on two plots of land where electricity pylons are to be built by Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB).
The plots of land are located in Chubadak and Mahkota Cheras in Kuala Lumpur.
Activist Badrul Hisham Shahrin claimed he is in a possession of a "confidential letter" proving that the contracts were given through direct negotiation instead of through an open tender as claimed by the state in a press statement.
“I am stressing that Menteri Besar Azmin Ali is lying,” the Solidariti Anak Muda Malaysia (Samm) founder said.
The former PKR central committee member, better known as Chegubard, however, claimed he could not reveal the letter to the media as it was an official secret.
As such, he challenged Azmin to declassify the document so it may be viewed by the public.
“I challenge you, Azmin, to declassify it and apologise, not to me, but to the public whom you have been lying to,” he said.
Azmin had reportedly said that land-clearing projects in the state had been awarded via open tender since 2008 thorugh the state Forestry Department.
Azmin said the menteri besar was never involved in the process which was handled by a tender committee. -Mkini
