Lecturer faces 12 counts of gross indecency, unnatural sex

PUTRAJAYA: A lecturer of a higher learning institution was charged in the Special Court for Sexual Crimes Against Children here today with 12 counts of gross indecency and for having unnatural sex with three teenage orphans.
Mohd Faiz Mustaffa, 30, pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
He was charged with committing the offences against the three boys, then aged 13, 14 and 15, at three different locations – a children’s home in Sungai Buloh, a toilet at the Faculty of Pharmacy of an institution of higher learning in Puncak Alam and a toilet at Saujana Utama Country Resort, Sungai Buloh.
The offences were alleged to have taken place between 2015, 2016 and May 14 of this year.
The charges were made under Section 377E of the Penal Code, which provides for imprisonment of up to 15 years and whipping if found guilty, and Section 377C of the same law, which provides for imprisonment of up to 20 years and whipping, upon conviction.
Judge Yong Zarida Sazali allowed Faiz bail of RM60,000 in one surety for all charges and set Dec 8 for mention.
She also warned Faiz against contacting or intimidating the victims, physically or through social media, until disposal of the case.
Faiz was also ordered to report himself to the nearest police station on the first day of every month and to surrender his passport to the court.
Deputy public prosecutor Nordalina Ali prosecuted, while Faiz was represented by lawyer Faizal Rahman. -FMT
