IGP PUT TO SHAME: INDIRA GANDHI’S TEAM SAYS ‘CLOSE TO FINDING DAUGHTER – WILL HAVE GOOD NEWS IN SEPTEMBER’

M. INDIRA Gandhi can expect some good news on the whereabouts of her missing daughter Prasana Diksa next month, said a civil society group today.
The Indira Gandhi Action Team (Ingat) told The Malaysian Insight that they were close to finding Prasana, who was abducted by Indira’s ex-husband more than a decade ago.
“We are closing in on Prasana Diksa and we will have a good news in September,” said Ingat chairman Arun without revealing details.
He added that the team is waiting for a meeting with Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Abdul Hamid Bador.
“We are waiting to meet the IGP to discuss on our next course of action when Prasana is found.
“That’s all we can disclose. But it is positive news, hopefully we can achieve that.”
Prasana was abducted by her father Muhammad Riduan Abdullah, who has ignored a court order to return his youngest daughter to Indira.
Riduan in 2014 was ordered by the Ipoh High Court to return Prasana but failed to do so, leading to a mandamus order by the court compelling the IGP to arrest him.
In January last year, the Federal Court in a landmark decision nullified the conversion of Indira’s children to Islam by her ex-husband, and declared unilateral conversions of children by one parent to be unlawful.
Arun said Ingat will be going to be to Johor next week to hold a campaign on the issue.
He added the team had to cancel a campaign in Kuala Lumpur yesterday because of a warning from the police.
“We had to cancel because Brickfields was in a lockdown so we will go to Johor next week and Penang the week after.
“We will have one in KL after that.”
The police had ordered a lockdown in Brickfields yesterday following plans to hold a rally against controversial preacher Zakir Naik.
Organisers however agreed to call off the rally.
Arun had alleged that Riduan was aided by PAS and Thai separatists but the Islamic party has denied its involvement.
He had also announced a RM10,000 reward for anyone with information leading to Riduan’s arrest.
Ingat was formed by Malaysian Hindu Sangam and other Hindu organisations to help Indira find her child.
