The Health Ministry yesterday reported 2,579 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, bringing the cumulative infections to 4,445,897.
Health authorities also recorded six new fatalities yesterday, putting the death toll at 35,542.

The active cases stood at 50,295, a decline of 53.6 percent compared to 14 days ago.
The six new deaths were reported in Selangor (3), Perak (1), Sabah (1) and Terengganu (1).
Over the past week, an average of 8.6 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 20.1, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
There have been 559 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 2,235 deaths last month and 770 deaths in February.
Malaysia has the highest number of deaths per capita in the Asean and East Asian regions with 1,071 deaths per 1 million population, and the fourth-worst in Asia after Iran, Lebanon and Jordan – all in the Middle East.
There are 1,258 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised of which 78 are in intensive care.
The highest number of admissions yesterday was recorded in Selangor (159) followed by Johor (78) and Sabah (63). - Mkini
