Rafizi Ramli has promised to “burn” (bakar) and “enlighten” (beri pencerahan) in his new podcast titled YBM, which stands for “Yang Berhenti Menteri” (the one who quit as minister).
"I’m no longer bound by government ethics and confidentiality. So, I’m free to speak,” he said.
Rafizi previously created and hosted his initial podcast programme called Yang Bakar Menteri, which also uses the acronym YBM.
“God willing, I will balance the commentary on YBM – there will be some 'burning' and also some 'enlightening'.
“What’s important is that it must be objective, fact-based, and provide a fair understanding to everyone," he said in a Facebook post.
The debut episode of the weekly YBM podcast is set to air this Friday at 9pm.
Rafizi, who recently stepped down as economy minister after losing the PKR deputy presidency, is poised to confront the criticisms against him and shed light on his political future.
In his post, he listed several jibes often thrown his way = "Always sulking”, “Won’t budge even when coaxed”, "Became a minister but achieved nothing”, “Thinking of starting a new party” and “Who knows where his formulas went”.
Man with a plan
Rafizi is often satirically dubbed "Mr Formula" by critics due to his fondness for using detailed calculations, economic models, and data-driven arguments.
On May 30, just two days after stepping down from the cabinet, the Pandan MP hinted at future plans, promising to unveil them after Hari Raya Haji on June 7.
"I have already planned what to focus on after this, but let's allow everyone to calm down first, (with the upcoming) Hari Raya Haji and so on.
"I'll share more later. The true potential of this country lies in ordinary people. We have to go back to harnessing this potential," Rafizi said on X. - Mkini
