
KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 44 vehicles at a local council's storage facility for unserviceable vehicles were affected after a grass fire, covering an area of about 1.6 hectares, spread to the site in Taman Putra Perdana, Puchong, this afternoon.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department Operations Division assistant director, Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar, said the department received an emergency call at 2.40pm regarding the grass fire before it reached the open-structured storage area.
"The fire was successfully extinguished and no casualties were reported. The operation concluded at 6.20pm," he said in a statement today.
He added that a total of 12 personnel from the Cyberjaya and Bangi Fire and Rescue stations were involved in the operation. - NST
