AT the recent special convention of the PKR in Kedah, the focus turned toward attacking Kedah Menteri Besar (MB) Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor, using what a political influencer described as “cytronons tactics”.
Previously, Pakatan Harapan chairman and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had argued that if the goal is to retake Kedah, the strategy should be to strengthen the party and its support base in the state.
“Strengthen the party, go down and meet the people. Leaders should be visible consistently, not only when elections are around the corner.”
Despite this advise from the leader, Home Minister Affairs Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail chose the old approach.
They also displayed the face of Sanusi in a large format, for everyone to see, the author of the satirical page on Facebook Tanaka Mustafa said.
If the intention was to get party members to see the MB as the bad guy, the effect may boomerang on PKR members, the political commentator added.
“They even displayed Sanusi’s face prominently at their own convention.
“The risk is that Sanusi’s image might stick in the subconscious minds of PKR members in Kedah, while face Saifuddin’s fades away,” the post sarcastically said.
The political commentator summed it up: “In the end, people may remember Sanusi more than Saifuddin.” — Focus Malaysia
