Bersatu's disciplinary body has sacked the party deputy president Hamzah Zainudin, effective today.
According to a notice sighted by Malaysiakini, the disciplinary council chairperson Radzi Manan said Hamzah (above) was dismissed because he had allegedly contravened Clause 9.1.4 of the party's constitution.
However, Radzi did not mention the Larut MP's specific offence.
"Please take note that this notice takes effect immediately.
"However, you can submit an appeal to the disciplinary council for consideration within 14 days from the date of this notice," he said.

Bersatu secretary-general Azmin Ali, in a statement, confirmed the membership termination.
He said the disciplinary board had notified the party's supreme council of its decision to sack Hamzah according to Clause 22.5 of the Bersatu constitution.
The decision came at the height of an internal power struggle between Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin and Hamzah.
Malaysiakini learned that Bersatu has also taken similar action against five party leaders and lawmakers who are known to be aligned with Hamzah.

Based on information shared with the media by a Bersatu insider, they include Machang MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal, whom the party disciplinary body had suspended last year for allegedly violating the party constitution and its Code of Ethics and Conduct.
Others are Gerik MP Fathul Huzir Ayob, Azahari Hassan (Padang Rengas), Sabah Bersatu secretary Yunus Nurdin, and Larut Bersatu division chief Hassundi Hamzah. - Mkini
