KUALA LUMPUR: A Selangor couple walked away with a RM23.53 million Toto 4D Jackpot 1 windfall on Feb 7 by betting on numbers derived from their family members' identity card digits.
The winners, a 49-year-old marketing manager and a 66-year-old retiree, recently claimed their prize at the STM Lottery head office.
The couple revealed that the pair of winning numbers, 6777 and 5085, were placed as a standard RM2 bet, which bagged them exactly RM23,532,445.40.
"We have been playing these numbers for many years and never imagined they would one day bring us such a life-changing win," said the younger winner.
She shared that the winning numbers were inspired by the last four digits of their family members' identification cards.
While her partner, an avid Toto player, selects and records the numbers, she typically handles the purchases, spending between RM200 and RM300 whenever she visits an outlet.
The couple described the win as a timely "big ang pow" ahead of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
They plan to use the windfall to expand their business, purchase a house, and set aside savings for the future.
STM Lottery confirmed the win from Draw No. 6086/26, noting that the winning ticket was sold in Selangor. - NST
