MRSM Kinarut set to be renamed after Musa Aman

KOTA KINABALU: Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) has expressed its intention to rename Maktab Rendah Sains Mara (MRSM) Kinarut as MRSM Tun Musa Aman in recognition of the Sabah Governor's contributions to education and human capital development in the state.

The proposal was conveyed by Mara chairman Datuk Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki during a courtesy call on Tun Musa at Istana Seri Kinabalu here today.

According to a post on Musa's official Facebook page, the proposal was also made on behalf of Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi as an acknowledgement of his role in Sabah's educational development.

The renaming is seen as a symbolic recognition of his service and commitment to strengthening education in the state.

The formal proclamation of the new name is expected to be held in the near future.

Also present during the courtesy call were Mara director-general Datuk Zulfikri Osman, Mara Education Division deputy director Sahrizal Mohd Saderi and Mara Sabah director Dr Shahrizin Abdul Sharhadat. - NST
