Ramanan: Malaysia stronger when unity prevails over division

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia will remain strong as long as its people choose unity over division, while nurturing mutual respect and compassion in society, says Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri R. Ramanan.

He urged Malaysians to reflect on the meaning of Aidiladha, which is rooted in the story of Prophet Ibrahim and Prophet Ismail.

He said the story teaches that a nation is strengthened when its people are willing to share, help one another and stand together regardless of differences.

"When Malaysians work together and care for one another regardless of background, that is the true strength of Malaysia Madani.

"Let us continue to preserve harmony and unity, which are the foundation of national stability.

"May this Aidiladha remind us that peace and prosperity can only be sustained when the people remain united and strengthen one another," he said in a Facebook post.

Ramanan, who is also the Sungai Buloh Member of Parliament, said Aidiladha was not only a religious celebration but also a time to reflect on compassion, unity and social responsibility.

"In a country of diverse races, religions and cultures, Aidiladha carries a powerful message of compassion, togetherness and mutual respect," he said. - NST
