Kit Siang slams Harussani for lying about new constitution

REMEMBER, UMNO IS THE ONE THAT HAD 'RAPED' THE ORIGINAL FEDERAL CONSTITUTION FOR THE PAST 50 OVER YEARS FOR THE TOTAL BENEFIT OF UMNOPUTRAS AND NOT MALAYS OR BUMIPUTERA AT LARGE. WHY NO ONE QUESTION THEM?

DAP has slammed Perak Mufti Harussani Zakaria for lying about the Pakatan Rakyat possessing an alternative constitution that will replace the existing one and erase the special rights of the Malays and the position of Islam in the country.

"DAP leaders have never heard or known of such an alternate constitution. This allegation by the Perak Mufti Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria is a very serious and inflammable one and should not be made without proof," DAP adviser Lim Kit Siang said in a press statement.

Indeed, Harussani – long-considered an Umno stooge in the political and religious circles - created a ruckus in the Malay media with his allegations. The Umno-owned Utusan front-paged the headline Elak perang besar or 'Big War' on Tuesday and followed up with another incendiary article entitled Benar, perang besar or 'True, big war' on Wednesday.

Harussani also ticked off by Anwar, PAS

Kit Siang is the latest to join Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim in condemning the Umno move to spread panic and hate amongst the Malays towards the other ethnic groups in general and the Pakatan in particular.

On Wednesday, Anwar pointed out that the Pakatan parties of PAS, DAP and PKR have already reiterated their commitment to the special position of Malays and Islam as provided for in Malaysia's federal constitution.

“For us in Pakatan Rakyat, I along with Tok Guru Haji Hadi, Lim Guan Eng have signed an agreement accepting the existing provisions in the constitution,” said Anwar, referring to the coalition’s Common Policy Framework which was launched in December 2009.

This was confirmed by Kit Siang.

“Any such an alleged alternative constitution could not have emanated from Pakatan Rakyat as the component parties of PKR, PAS and DAP had reaffirmed commitment to the fundamental principles of the Malaysian Constitution in a common platform last December,” Kit Siang said.

The Islamist PAS has already launched several stinging denials to Harussani’s allegations.
