1Malaysia in BN logo: It's no more national unity

SUBANG JAYA - Should prime minister Najib Razak’s battlecry "1Malaysia" be adapted as a political symbol for Barisan Nasional, it would cease to represent a symbol for national unity as lauded by the government since its beginning.

This was the reaction from Subang Jaya state representative Hannah Yeoh, to a report by The Malaysian Insider recently that a major cosmetic plan was underway to add elements of the 1Malaysia artwork to the BN coalition's logo, and was being targeted for release in the coming general election expected next year.

Ridiculing the move, Hannah said if the report were true, 1Malaysia had then become a political slogan, saying it was tantamount to voters who were not politically aware.

Hannah also said the move also smacked of hypocrisy and would enable BN to spread its political propaganda to the schools, through such programmes as recently launched '1Malaysia' milk to provide free milk to students.

“1Malaysia logo will now be part of BN's logo for elections which means school kids are being fed with politics in school,” said the popular ADUN.

The report had among others claimed that the proposal to revamp BN's logo was approved last week together with proposals for direct and associate membership in the coalition. - Harakahdaily
