Jenapala: The people channelling money to me are ...

Super-Jena can kick up a fuss with just 30-40 protesters

Sacked PKR deputy secretary-general P Jenapala is not a shy man. Despite exiting or perhaps because he exited the party in disgrace just before the landmark 2008 general elections, he has made umpteen attempts to attract the attention of former party colleagues - albeit in a negative way.

And perhaps in the same way that Perkasa's Ibrahim Ali has become a thorn in Umno's flesh, Jenapala is trying his best to make himself the dark cloud in PKR's sky.

His latest cudgel is the party's recently concluded one-member one-vote direct elections. Not only does Jenapala insist he has every right to contest, he denies that he was ever sacked even though secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution confirms he was thrown out because he had been found to be a bankrupt.

"I have support from PKR members all over Malaysia," Jenapala told Malaysia Chronicle in a phone interview.

PKR members who have left the party

However, he declined to give specifics on the actual numbers or an indication on the level of his support. Also, despite intense questioning, he refused to name his backers although he admitted they were "PKR members who have left the party".

Speculation has been rife that Jenapala could be acting for Umno-BN, renegade PKR members such as Zaid Ibrahim, Soh Chee Wen, or even Sabah vice president Jeffery Kitingan.

"I am ready to cooperate with anyone who is willing to fight with me to fight against the injustice that happened to me," sidestepped Jenapala.

"PKR members who have left the party and members who are in the party who are not satisfied with Anwar and the top leaders are channeling money to me to organize the protest."

When asked again if Umno-BN leaders were involved, he would only say:

"Outsiders who are not members of PKR can be there. If I don't get the right justice that I am demanding, I would join any other party," he warned.
