Muhyiddin looking into blogger’s graft claim

The deputy premier is looking into the allegation that his private secretary allegedly received bribes.
UPDATED
SHAH ALAM: Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin is looking into the allegations by an anonymous blogger that his private secretary received bribes.
FMT had reported last week the blogger’s claim that Muhyiddin’s senior aide Mohd Shukor Abdul Manan received more than RM100,000 in kickbacks.
The blogger, who calls himself Whistleblower 711, also named Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak’s senior aide and Deputy Finance Minister Awang Adek Husin in his allegation.
Muhyiddin said he was not aware of any wrongdoing but promised to probe the matter.
“I am not aware (of the allegation) except for what I read in the blog (but) I will look into it,” he told reporters here.
The blogger claims to have evidence – in the form of documents and informants – to also implicate Awang Adek of improper conduct.
The blogger claimed that the three government officials have been “bought” by one businessman for the purpose of obtaining contracts from the federal government and its agencies.
Monthly contributions
The unnamed blogger also claimed that the businessman, whom he identified as a managing director of two companies and  an Umno leader in Johor, had been channellling several thousands of “monthly contributions” to the government officials.
Evidence of these contributions was published in the blog in the form of scans of several cash deposit slips, together with serial numbers. These were alleged to be the personal accounts of the government officials.
The bribes were made in relation to a contract to provide service to Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and Johor Bahru Sentral in Johor by the Public Works Department.
While Najib has yet to explain on the matter, Awang Adek had openly admitted that he had received contributions deposited straight into his personal account but were meant for charity purposes.
He denied any wrongdoing.
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has confirmed that it is investigating allegations against the deputy minister for his alleged covert dealings with Advance Maintenance Precision Management Sdn Bhd and Gerbang Perdana managing director Yahya Abd Jalil.
