Noh Omar blames DAP for school fracas

Responding to DAP members’ allegations that they were assaulted by BN supporters at an event in Bandar Sungai Long yesterday, Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Minister Noh Omar turned the tables on them and claimed that they were to be blamed.

"This (allegation) proves that DAP is a big liar. They came like ‘samseng’ (hooligans) and trespassed on a BN event, but BN gets the blame instead.

NONE"I went to calm down the situation, and for that I was accused of being ‘samseng’. Obviously DAP has twisted the facts," he toldMalaysiakini in a text message late yesterday.

Yesterday Kajang municipal councillor Lee Kee Hiong and several other DAP local leaders claimed that they were assaultedoutside of the construction site of SRJK (C) Bandar Sungai Long, Selangor, minutes before Prime Minister Najib Razak's arrival for the Chinese school's groundbreaking ceremony.

NONELee said she went there with an entourage of some 20 former and current municipal councillors and residents in green T-shirts, but were stopped and charged by about 30 to 40 people wearing BN and 1Malaysia T-shirts.

The alleged BN supporters surrounded and roughed up four in her group, pinning them to the ground, she said.
Lee also alleged that Noh’s aide had pushed her, causing her to lose her balance and injuring herself in the process.

Police eventually escorted Lee and her group, some of whom suffered bruises from the attack, out of the venue.
Lee is calling a press conference later today on the matter.
