Stronger Indian support now for BN, says Palanivel

CYBERJAYA, July 28 — The MIC will ensure that Indian support for the Barisan Nasional will be stronger in the coming general election compared to the GE in 2008.
Party president Datuk Seri G. Palanivel said Indian support for the party would be bigger this time around as the community had received tremendous benefits from the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Since taking over office in 2009, Najib has always been ready to engage in key issues and offered wider opportunities for the Indian community in education, development programmes and civil services.
“All these initiatives are bearing results now. We can see that more Indians are supportive of Barisan Nasional and the MIC now compared to the 2008 general election.
“Definitely, the community’s general support has increased, and the 2008 scenario will not be repeated.
“We are working towards a much better party for the community,” he told reporters after a dialogue session with 600 students at the 1 Malaysia Indian Students Summit held at the Limkokwing University here today. — Bernama
