Umno rep wants BN's Janji Ditepati on Sabah roads
An Umno parliamentarian from Sabah today asked that the BN fulfill its promise to upgrade roads in the east Malaysian state.
“BN’s motto is Janji Ditepati. I want to ask, this road, when is work on it going to start?” asked Abdul Ghapur Salleh (Umno-Kalabakan) (left) during Question Time in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He was asking the Works Ministry about when the road from Kota Kinabalu to Sindumin is going to be upgraded to a dual carriageway as promised by Works Minister Shaziman Mansur during his visit to Miri in April.
Deputy Works Minister Yong Khoon Hian, who fielded the question, however said that the promise was not only for that stretch of road but for the entire Pan-Borneo Highway.
Yong explained that the allocation is being released in stages and work will be done by segments as it would not be possible to upgrade the entire 1,800km-stretch simultaneously.
