BUT WHY NOT? Don’t replace us, Najib implores Malaysians
Changing the government is not changing a meal menu, said prime minister Najib Razak in making a plea to the people to not replace Barisan Nasional with Pakatan Rakyat.
“As a developing country which has a future, we need continuance, we need it not solely for power but because the people will benefit more under BN,” Najib said in his speech at a programme called 'Morning with the Prime Minister' in Teluk Intan yesterday.
Najib said without “continuous mandate”, a government’s long term plan will be crippled.
He described PR as a fragile and inexperienced coalition compared to BN which he said had proven track records.
“BN as a government understands that in fulfilling this responsibility, there must be a sense of humanism and being humble to appreciate people’s aspiration and to feel their heartbeat,” he said.
Najib said that although “times have changed”, the BN's principles "remain the same".
“Only the style change,” he added, and cited his 1Malaysia battlecry.
On the 2013 Budget 2013, Najib said it was an 'election budget' but a responsible, inclusive and complete plan covering all layers of society.
“Not one international or local analyst has said our budget has no credibility and irresponsible. Yet, many have disputed the opposition’s budget to the extent no one evaluates it because there is no credibility,” he added.
Deputy Finance minister Husni Hanadzlah had earlier said that the Treasury had analysed PR’s budget to conclude that it was "mathematically wrong".
