MCA in 'war mode'

MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek said that the blue T-shirts bearing anti-Pakatan Rakyat slogans for delegates at the party’s annual general meeting (AGM) symbolised MCA’s preparedness for “war” and the general election.

NONE“All political parties must transform and change to suit (election) time. This is war time and everybody has their role to play,” Chua (centre, in photo) said during a press conference at the sidelines of the event.

On the anti-Pakatan messages on the back of the T-shirts and posters pasted all over the MCA headquarters, Chua said that they were meant to remind the public of the consequences of voting for the opposition.

“The budget by Pakatan reinforces the conviction they do not have social economic development plan for the nation,” he said, while dismissing the document for its populist policies.

For example, Chua said that the small and medium enterprises(SME) could not afford Pakatan’s proposed RM1,100 minimum wage policy.

“They (SME) cannot increase the wages drastically like Pakatan. They kill the goose that lay the golden eggs.

“If Malaysiakini or Malaysian Insider increases your (journalist) salary by 300 percent, they will close down,” he replied when asked whether BN government’s  RM900 minimum wage is sufficient for urban population.

MCA delegates also ditched their traditional white uniforms and instead showed up in navy blue T-shirts with anti-Pakatan slogans on the back.
