CHINESE AND TAMIL SCHOOL UPSR TOP-SCORERS DENIED PLACES AT ELITE AND BOARDING SCHOOLS DUE TO NON-COMPLIANCE OF ONLINE REGISTRATION
LATEST information received indicate that Tamil and Chinese medium of instruction Primary Schools were not officially advised or the school headmasters were not aware of the change in the selection systems or just overlooked in registering their bright Chinese and Tamil UPSR class students sometime in August 2012 which will enable these top scorers a place in elite or boarding schools.
Parents of these students have been given a go-around between their Education Department and the affected Primary Schools.
Concern parents have even been told that officials of the Education Departments had advised that the affected school had failed to register their bright students online in August 2012, while depriving these bright students (7A's and 6A & 1B's) a golden opportunity to continue their studies in these elite and boarding schools.
It is also learnt that the Chinese community have already expressed their displeasure to the Ministers from MCA, who have assured these affected parents that they will raise this matter at the next cabinet meeting.
The Indian leaders from MIC or PPP or Gerakan seemed not "bothered" about this matter.
Whoever is responsible for this slip-up, the Chinese and Tamil UPSR pupils should not be made a scape-goat.
The Education Ministry and Education Minister, who is Deputy Prime Minister should address this issue immediately although the UMNO/BN federal government had always indicated that they will be fair in the allocation of places for these top scorers.
