'Why hold on to RM680,000 meant for Palestinians?'

'Why hold on to RM680,000 meant for Palestinians?'
PAS has urged the Melaka state government to release RM680,000 in donations meant for Palestinians.
Melaka PAS commissioner Adly Zahari said the fund, established by the authorities to centralise all donations from the public and government agencies towards the Palestinian cause, had collected RM680,747 in 2009.
"We urge the state to release the money immediately. It is a betrayal of trust to keep the money for the last three years," said Adly, who expressed disappointment that chief minister Mohd Ali Rustam (pic) had not responded to earlier queries on the matter.
Adly referred to the Auditor General's report which noted that the amount had yet to be disbursed as at April 2011.
Rustam was in the news recently over an elaborate wedding feast for his son which attracted some 130,000 'guests', enabling it to enter the Malaysian Book of Records for the most number of wedding guests.
Ali later claimed that the total amount spent for the wedding was RM600,000, but the figure was disputed by Pakatan Rakyat leaders.
