DAP: Not all commuters want to hear BN propaganda

Selangor DAP has slammed Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) for continuing to run the ‘I Love BN’ video advertisements in their trains, saying not everyone wanted to listen to BN propaganda.

Subang Jaya DAP Hannah Yeoh (left in photo) claimed that she had even heard commuters in the KTM trains complain about the advertisements.

NONE“The general public buys a (Komuter) ticket, but not all of them want to listen to BN propaganda,” she said at a press conference at her office today.

She repeated her call that KTM disclose the rates that it had supposedly charged BN for the advertisements.

“KTM needs to immediately disclose the amount (that BN had purportedly paid for the spots). If they give the space to BN, they should give it to other parties.

NONE“If they want to ignore (the call to disclose their rates) then they should stop charging users.
"(Otherwise) it is unfair, because this is a democratic country,” she said.

It was reported earlier this month that the Klang Valley Komuter trains have been playing theSelangor BN videos since last month.

In the face of criticism, KTMB chairperson Mohamad Zin Mohamad, who is also Selangor BN secretary, claimed that it is a paid advertisement.

NONEYeoh responded demanding that KTMB disclose the amountthat they had charged BN and also the general rates for advertising.

Last April, KTMB also allowed BN flags to be put up at its stations in Selangor, a state the BN has repeatedly announced that it is bent on winning back from the opposition in the next general election.
