Paul Low’s office ‘misspoke’, says Dharmendran’s family

Low’s office is at the centre of a new controversy.PETALING JAYA, June 1 — The family of N. Dharmendran, who died in police custody last month, denied today that they had misunderstood Datuk Paul Low’s alleged attempt at outreach, saying that his office was the one who “misspoke”.
This follows the newly-minted minister for human rights and integrity’s claim that the family had misunderstood his office’s intention as a government cover-up ploy.
“His people were the one who misspoke, not us who misunderstood,” said Dharmendran’s widow M. Marry here.
According to Marry, Low’s office could have come straight to the family’s home to discuss the matter instead of trying to call them on the phone “secretly”.
“All they’re doing right now is just a waste of time,” she added.
