First Khalid, now Zahid - a bad week for PM

Ourvotesdecide: So we have a home minister in charge of the police accused of and sued for assaultand the inspector-general of police (IGP) under the same ministry implicated by the court of covering upthe cause of death of a fellow citizen.

Odin: As the saying goes, birds of a feather flock together. When the head is a total rotter, he, naturally, won't gather decent people but men like Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and IGP Khalid Abu Bakar into his fold.

Slumdog: The whole of Najib's administration appears to be under some kind of severe paralysis.

PM Najib Razak's response to all unsavoury acts by his ministers, senior government officials, and those in the police force, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and Election Commission (EC) is to remain silent and hope that it will eventually go away.

The recent court cases involving Home Minister Ahmad Zahid'salleged assault of a businessperson and the discrediting of the police chief Khalid by the High Court highlight Najib's inactivity.

It is obvious that Najib does not admonish or reprimand any wrongdoing by his ministers or senior government officials because they can never change and continue to behave appallingly.

Is there any other country in the world where the PM supports thugs, bullies and liars in such important positions?

Mcll#601257: After hearing what judge VT Singham has said, I think Khalid should be arrested and charged for cover-up of Kugan's death. He may be the IGP but he is not exempted from prosecution.

Appum: PM, home minister, IGP - a holy or unholy trinity?

Fair Play: It's a tough call for the PM. During this crucial stage, what he needs most is trust and loyalty from his inner circle. For the two in question, it would be interesting to watch their body language.

Tan Kim Keong: The only honourable thing for both Khalid and Zahid to do is to resign immediately. Not willing to do so will only mean that they are men of vile nature.

Resignation is the only saving grace for them. Furthermore, their appointments are already seen as a gross dereliction of duty on Najib's part as PM. Let not these appointments be an international embarrassment, if not already.

Fourtan: Khalid and honour? I almost retched as I put the two words in the same sentence. With these kind of cops, who needs criminals?

Pputeh: Look at all the worms that is coming out. At last we have honourable judges who mince no words on the dirt of these so-called leaders of our society.

Newday: Honesty, integrity and honour are attributes in short supply among our leaders and elites, so do not expect too much.

Quigonbond: It's nothing to do with judicial independence. It's a brilliant coup by former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad to discredit the entire Home Ministry structure so that his son Mukhriz Mahathir can move up the food chain.

If you notice, Deputy IGP Mohd Bakri Mohd Zinin is already public enemy number one with his attacks on calls for Independent Police Complaints and Misconduct Commission (IPCMC) and against opposition.

He's just waiting for the IGP to fall before taking over. Now that's what you call a fast-tracked promotion.

Anonymous_4056: Now I know why the IGP and the entire police force are afraid of IPCMC. They will be charged with attempted murder, manslaughter and murder, not to mention causing grievous hurt.

SpongeBob: I cannot conceive of a greater loss than the loss of one's self-respect. What's your next move? To stay or leave? My suggestion is to resign so that the good name of the police force is maintained.

Chial: Khalid clearly failed to find the culprit who is responsible. He found water in the lung instead following an investigation. The pathologist in the second autopsy should be appointed IGP instead.

See3: Come to think of it, when has there ever been an IGP with honour? They all towed Umno's line and in doing so, compromised their integrity in exchange for plump appointments upon retirement to continue to live the good life.

As for the home minister, his behaviour is nothing short of a common criminal. A bully thug or 'kaki pukul' as the Malays call them.

I hope justice will prevail and this bully is sentenced and made to pay compensation for his alleged criminal assault. Not holding my breath though.

Khalid Abu Bakar is a cold-blooded species of this sort. When he was chief police officer (CPO) of Selangor, he didn't even show an iota of compassion for the families of citizens who died under suspicious circumstances while remanded in custody by the police.

Instead he did everything he could to harass and silence them. And this is the man we have as our IGP.

Bye Bye: How Najib wishes he lost GE13 to put all these miseries behind him. Yes, we have a mafia (untouchable) government for too many years. One name will be etched in the nations history most disgraceful period.

Rku020: Don't forget to add to the list the home minister who is alleged to have detained his daughter's friend and beat him up and the two ministers with alleged bought degrees. What a cabinet of losers. Dear prime minister, what do you take to sleep at night?

Mark Anthony: Bad week for Najib. First the IGP is implicated in the A Kugan case. Next, the home minister is facing a civil suit for assault, and sadly a Terengganu state assemblyperson passes on.
