Zambry dares Ngeh to prove he robbed, misused land

Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kader claimed Sitiawan assemblyman Ngeh Koo Ham was telling lies in the state assembly.
IPOH: Perak Menteri Besar Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir has hit out at Sitiawan assemblyman Ngeh Koo Ham for making extreme accusations against him over the issue of land for the people.
He said Ngeh had repeatedly claimed during the current state assembly sitting that the approval of land by the state government for certain people to be the nation’s “biggest scandal”.
“I have explained to him (Ngeh) many times although he kept accusing me.
“He should not do this but provide proof if I have robbed or misused 120,000 acres (48,000 hectares) of state land by giving it to my cronies as he claimed,” he told reporters outside the assembly hall, here.
Zambry said approvals for land had been increasing as these plots of land were for building mosques, houses of worship for other religions, educational institutions, agriculture and commerce.
He accused Ngeh is telling lies about the land matter during the state assembly sitting and attempting to paint a bad picture of the state government led by him.
“Two years ago, I was asked how many acres were approved and I said 68,000 acres (27,200 hectares), and before the last general election, 120,000 acres were approved.
“This shows the process of land approval has been effective.
“However, this positive development is viewed negatively by the Perak DAP chairman, accusing it as manipulation, corruption and cronyism,” he said.
The state assembly sitting continues tomorrow.
