Cops to guard ballot papers for Umno polls


The police would be employed to safeguard ballot papers used during the upcoming Umno supreme council election.

According to Bernama, the police's task was to ensure that there would be no leakage of ballot papers before distributing them to all divisions.

Umno executive secretary Ab Rauf Yusof said that four million ballot papers would be issued and the papers would contain 18 security features, which includes UV watermarks.

Speaking to reporters at a voting simulation exercise at the Umno Empowerment Training Institute (Ilmu) at Janda Baik, Pahang Ab Rauf also revealed that the party would also be supplying 2,000 automated counting machines.
