Water rationing if Gemencheh Dam level keeps dropping

Water rationing will have to be imposed in parts of Tampin and Rembau areas if the water level at the Gemencheh Dam, Tampin, continues dropping to the minimum level, Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan said.

He said the Gemencheh dam was now able to sustain for only 25 more days.

“That is if there is no rainfall in the near future,” he said in a statement in Seremban today.

According to a report by the Syarikat Air Negri Sembilan Sdn Bhd (Sains) today, the most recent recording of the water level in the Gemencheh dam was 99.84 metres, while the critical level was 98.00 metres and minimum level 86.00 metres. The overflow level was 110.00 metres.
