KUALA LUMPUR - A ‘zombie’ fainted at the protest against the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPPA) in Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman Saturday, and everyone thought it was a gimmick.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, in the zombie costume suddenly collapsed in the crowd of scores of people during a speech by Bantah TPPA co-chairman Azlan Awang in front of the Sogo shopping mall.
When those around him realised he was not faking, they carried him to the side of the building to be treated.

Earlier, the ‘zombies’ attracted the attention of passers-by with their performances, mobbing a man dressed as ‘Uncle Sam.’
The performance symbolised the TPPA which the protesters said favoured Western pharmaceutical companies that would substantially increase the price of medicines.
Under the TPPA, patent laws would be loosened, allowing pharmaceutical companies to hold exclusive patents for a longer time.
Azlan said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak should not be pressured by the three-day visit of US President Barack Obama into agreeing to the TPPA.
“Why else would he (Obama) want to come here if not to pressure Najib into signing the TPPA?.
“Bantah TPPA urges the Prime Minister to stay strong and make no promises to President Obama until we are in agreement and reassured that Malaysia will benefit from the TPPA,” he said.
Bantah TPPA is part of 37 movements under the Coalition to Act Against TPPA Malaysia.
