TELUK INTAN The campaigns for the Teluk Intan by-election, despite entering a crucial stage before polling on Saturday, are taking a breather due to Sultan Azlan Shah's death earlier today.
DAP has informed the media that it has cancelled all press conferences and ceramah scheduled for today.
However, it’s yet to be seen if the party will resume with tomorrow's campaign schedule.
Gerakan president Mah Siew Keong, who is the BN candidate, said some programmes would be cancelled or scaled down, while stating that the party is waiting for an official announcement from the Perak palace.
Perak Menteri Besar Zambry Abdul Kadir has said that the nation will observe seven days of mourning while tomorrow, when the sultan's funeral will be held, will be a public holiday.
