Muslim retailers to boycott Cadbury maker, Kraft

A total of 800 retailers under the Association of Muslim Wholesalers and Retailers Malaysia (Mawar) will boycott all products manufactured by Kraft Foods in retaliation against the Cadbury chocolare containing porcene DNA it produced.

Mawar spokesman Bazeer Ahmad said today that the action was prompted by the Health Ministry's tests that confirmed two Cadbury chocolate products were found to contain the pork strands, which are forbidden for Muslims.

Mawar and the Muslim Consumers Association of Malaysia (PPIM) said they are angry as Kraft Foods Malaysia, the maker of the Cadbury chocolates, had been dishonest and violated the sensitivity not only of  Muslims but of all Malaysians.

The authorities are still investigating whether or not Cadbury was aware that its products were contaminated.
