BN A LOST CAUSE, NO NEED FOR CHINESE & INDIANS TO BOTHER ANYMORE: Zero illusions from Umno’s assembly

BN A LOST CAUSE, NO NEED FOR CHINESE & INDIANS TO BOTHER ANYMORE: Zero illusions from Umno’s assembly
Coming out of Umno Baru Assembly, 2014. So far:
It is audacious of the DPM to ask for a “new” National Economic Policy (NEP), by manipulating the sloganised word “New” for “National” which is, still the lame duck NEP.
It is beyond comprehension of the PM to insist on asserting the proposed change to Sedation Act, instead of repealing it, which was promised earlier.
The talk on Secession of Sabah and Sarawak has arisen from Umno’s inability to fulfil the Malaysia Agreement since (1965). Instead of making remedial actions to compensate the sister states, the PM wants to strengthen the Act to silence them of their rights and grievances. The change would likely contradict the Federal Constitution, if made without providing the liberty for the people to express freely their views and opinions that do not instigate violence, and for the severe punishment for the abuse and misuse of the Act and its applications, to effectively protect the interest, rights and security of the Rakyat and the country.
Rakyat share with the DPM and leaders (including TDM, Tun Pak Lah ) the same sentiments, particularly after 308, that Umno Baru is inevitably heading south, overtaken by events and technology in these modern times. It has become increasingly irrelevant, quite in oblivion among most kampong folks in the past, but who are now beginning to be awaken by the effects.
It has lost the precious opportunities afforded by the people over and over again in the recent past, to reinvent and rejuvenate, coupled with the inability and (political) will to nurture and find its governance successions in leaderships. The people are fed up with its antiquated policies largely based on race and religions, misusing them to sow national divisiveness and hatreds, often with condoned extremism, in order to sustain power and greed from which had successfully bred a permanent culture of money politics and corruptions that has now become its unbashful trademark.
Income disparity and poverty rate continued to rise between the elites and associates of Umno Malays and the ordinary Malaysians of which majority are Malays, despite claiming 6.3 economic growth. Ironically the annual 8% average GDP growth from 1980 to mid-90s had not translated the desired intention and effects of the NEP and other affirmative policies to wipe out the poverty gap or improve the relative income of the Malays. Instead, had ''created a culture of dependency, corruption and racial envy'' pertinently expressed by Professor Kamal.
There is no stopping once Umno Baru has passed the tipping point, and it has, 'warlord' culture, NEP, Sedition Act , English language, judiciary, ‘pendatang ‘ or other blaming games, and whatnot.
The government of the day just cannot deliver and transform.
It would likely spell the tragic end of the Umno Baru story.
This is the reality.
What's lacking is the political will and perseverance for encouraging the people to work hard, learn and acquire relevant skills and knowledge, apply them to improve their income and attain self-sufficiency with dignity.
In short, it is now NOT enough to just learn to make the economic cake and share it, you need to know the ingredients, where to find them and how to improve the quality of the economic cake better and bigger than the previous, so that all Malaysians can share, progress and prosper as one inclusive nation.
Looking beyond….
This is the challenge (I wish ) together with the Rakyat would like to put forward to the Umno /BN leaders and/or those from Pakatan to seriously consider and adopt it as a ‘’Malaysian Reinvention Policy ‘’ which, if implemented diligently, strictly without misuse, would truly benefit all, regardless.
There is no illusion. –TMI
