Body of handcuffed man found on Penang hillside

12 stab wounds on body, knife found, residents report hearing sounds of fighting at night.
stabGEORGE TOWN: The body of a man with 12 stab wounds, and both hands handcuffed in the front, was found on the hillside off Jalan Semarak Api, Farlim, today.
The body was of a dark skinned man, but no identification documents were on him. There were 12 stab wounds on the stomach and back, including two in the face.
A vegetable cutting knife was found near the body which police believe to be the murder weapon; however, it bore no blood stains as it had been exposed to rain overnight.
Penang CID chief Mazlan Kesah said residents in the area heard the sound of fighting at the hillside between 10pm and 11pm last night.
Mazlan said the victim had died less than 16 hours before being found at 1pm. Police believe more than one person was involved and that a struggle had ensued.
The handcuffs was an old model and the matter was still under investigation as was the nationality of the victim.
He appealed to anyone with information about the incident to contact the nearest police station.
