I am deeply disturbed and disappointed to note recent acts and statements by Dato Palani's supporters condemning ROS and BN leaders.
I certainly of the opinion that certain clarifications should be given to the MIC members, who have been left as political orphans as a result of Dato G. Palanivel's poor leadership. MIC and her leaders at all levels are today, the victims of Palani's election mischief.
One must understand that the letter by Registrar of Society on December 5th had identified all irregularities involved in the December 2013 party elections, and gave full powers to the party leadership to hold re-elections to the post of three vice-presidents, 23 central working committee members (CWC), several divisions and branches.
While Palanivel together with his supporters kept mum over the directive, ROS later in a letter dated February 6th, found several other wrongdoings, with the peak was the formation of illegal branches during the election year, which contravenes law stipulated for societies and organisations in this country.
This branches were also found taking part in the 2013 presidential election. The February 6th letter clearly said that all positions in MIC are declared null and void, thus a fresh re-election have to be called to reinstate those positions.
Now, whose wrongdoing is that? Palanivel or ROS?
Now, rather than fixing the issue, Palani's supporters are out in public condemning ROS and BN leadership while trying to divert the actual issue of election fraud.
The picture painted by these Palanivel's supporters is a Indian community versus ROS and UMNO, kind of crisis.
Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was only advising MIC to solve the internal crisis, but that was blasted by Balakrishnan as interference. It is worthy to note that the same Palani supporter praised Zahid for commending Palanivel when he initially agreed for a re-election.
Palanivel openly declared that he is going to appeal the ROS decision based on BN secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor's advice. Why never claim interference that time. The reason being when something is favourable to you, you agree with it but you condemn and say interference when it's otherwise. How can that be fine quality of a leader?
Hence this is not an issue of interference by BN leadership or ROS but it's purely a selfish and greedy act to hang to power by Palanivel, for which he is even willing to destroy MIC.
