Muslims should refrain from vilifying the country's leaders if they love Islam, according to the text prepared by the Malaysian Islamic Development Department (Jakim) for Friday sermons.
"Lately, there are some who are irresponsible and do not love the country to the extent they are willing to sow discord, light the fire of enmity and spread slander, even to vilify leaders and the country...," read the text.
It added that Muslims have been influenced by outsiders who are out to tarnish the dignity of the leaders.
"These people are enemies that endanger the rakyat and country's security.
"The efforts to bring down the country, betray the governing leaders and (destroy) peace is not something done by those who love Islam," it said.
The Friday sermon said such actions are only perpetrated by those with poor character and integrity.
The sermon comes amid investigation into claims that RM2.6 billion was deposited into Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's private bank accounts.
Government leaders have claimed there is a plot to topple Najib as prime minister.
Investigators have also been accused of conspiring to bring down the government by pro-government blogs.
Najib had denied taking public funds for personal gain.
