Prince: Don’t make us scapegoats for nation’s problems

Johor crown prince Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim has revealed that there are instructions by the powers-that-be to “attack” his father Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar and him.
He said this is because the two of them have been vocal on certain issues out of concern for the people of this nation. The crown prince however did not elaborate on who issued the instructions.
Both Sultan Ibrahim and Tunku Ismail have been critical of the Najib administration and have repeatedly stressed the importance of good governance.
Below is Tunku Ismail's posting on the Johor Southern Tigers Facebook page:
“Lately I received word that there are some quarters who are instructed to "attack" my father and myself due to our vocal stand on various issues.
“The question is, are we vocal for the benefit of the state and nation, or do we harbour malicious intent towards the country?
“We are only concerned about the prosperity of the people, as well as wanting the nation's leaders to carry out their duties with integrity and transparency, for the sake of the rakyat.
“However, I am saddened to see that some people, who only think about position, power and personal interests, see my father and I as though we are challenging the government.
“If advice and opinions from my father as the sultan, and myself as the crown prince, are to be restricted and disputed, what are the rakyat to hope for?
“It is better that we find solutions to the nation's woes, as arguing amongst each other will get us nowhere.
“I would also like to take this opportunity to stress to certain quarters, not to create issues about my father and I just to divert attention of the rakyat from more pressing issues.
“Do not use us as scapegoats while the current situation deteriorates.
“Rather than ‘attacking’ each other, the time and effort would be better spent to solve the problems plaguing our country.
“I pray may Allah always bless the people of Johor and Malaysia. Allah save the Sultan. Long live Johor.” -Mkini
