Himpun 16: Taylor University says bus with its logo used without authorisation

PETALING JAYA: Taylor University has regretted that a bus with its logo was used to ferry participants to Wednesday’s Himpunan Kebangkitan Rakyat rally in Kuala Lumpur.
It said in a statement on its Facebook page that it had not authorised the use of its bus, which was contracted to a third party, for such a purpose.
“Taylor's University has noted that our bus contracted to third party, Wawasan Sutera, was used by the operator to ferry passengers to the red rally today without our knowledge.
“We would like to reiterate that the management of the university did not authorise the service of the bus for this purpose and the bus was not used to ferry our students to the rally,” the university said in the statement.
It added that immediate action was taken to withdraw the use of the bus with its logo and regretted its unintentional association with the event.
Photographs of the bus were posted on a news portal, drawing flak from netizens who said it implied that Taylor’s students were involved in the rally.
