KUALA LUMPUR: Khairuddin Abu Hassan’s counsel, Matthias Chang, was called in to have his statement recorded at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters today on the case against the sacked Umno Batu Kawan deputy divisional chief.
Matthias turned up as a witness at the police station at about 9.30am with his lawyer, Zainol Zakaria and another counsel Ahmad Bazlan Che Kassim, to assist in police investigations.
The matter was confirmed by Ahmad Bazlan when met by reporters.
“The testimony was recorded for an hour … we will return to Dang Wangi on Friday, to resume the testimony,” he said.
In another development, Ahmad Bazlan said Khairuddin was still admitted at the Kuala Lumpur Hospital, as he was suspected to have contracted dengue.
Khairuddin was previously arrested at his residence here.
He was remanded for six days beginning September 19 under Section 124C of the Penal Code on charges of performing activities that were detrimental to parliamentary democracy.
On September 23, Khairuddin was re-arrested at the Jalan Duta court complex under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) on charges of attempting to sabotage the country.
