Housing, Local Government and Urban Wellbeing Minister Abdul Rahman Dahlan said the cleaning bill for yesterday's 'Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu' rally is RM38,000.
In a tweet, Rahman said he had just obtained confirmation from Alam Flora.
“The clean-up bill for the red demo is RM38k. The bill will be sent to red demo organisers,” he said.
The clean-up bill was delivered to Bersih 2.0, who are the organisers of the Bersih 4 event, on Sept 7.
Rahman, had earlier tweeted that he had spoken to Alam Flora to give him the cost of the red shirt rally which he said they are finalising and the bill would be sent to the organisers.
Rubbish was littered all over Padang Merbok and Jalan Parlimen after the Himpunan Rakyat Bersatu protest.
A DBKL officer taking part in the clean up quipped there was three tonnes of rubbish in Padang Merbok alone.
"Yes there was rubbish (at Padang Merbok). But unlike the Bersih demonstration, this time the bad smell of urine was not evident," he tweeted.
Rahman was ridiculed over the Bersih bill, especially after his officers sent it to the wrong address.
Bersih has refused to pay the bill and said they will take the matter to court.
About 50,000 people flooded downtown Kuala Lumpur yesterday, in reaction to Bersih 4 and to defend the pride of the Malay race. -Mkini
