Facebook user Eric Chan had posted about how he saw the Malay women at his favourite nasi lemak stall refusing to accept payment from the elderly Chinese woman for her nasi lemak and some bananas.
Chan said when he asked the Malay women why they had refused to accept the money, one of them replied: "I sayang auntie ni, dia dah tua tua pun jalan keluar, I sayang dia." (I loved this auntie, she is already old but still going out, I love her.)
"In the eve of Malaysia Day, it's proven again and again, we love one another irrelevant of race. There is NO 1Malaysia, WE ARE MALAYSIA!
"May we stay the same harmoniously. Nothing can come between us. Not the plunging economy and definitely not the evil politicians! Happy Malaysia Day!" Chan wrote in his post.
The post has since been shared 15,000 times and was also picked up by the media.
