Former Langkawi Wanita Umno leader Anina Saadudin has filed an injunction to freeze Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s assets, as well as a detailed account of how the RM2.6 billion donation that he received for the party was used.
Anina's membership was terminated after she filed a suit on August 28 against Najib and the party over the US$700 million (RM2.6 billion) deposited into the prime minister’s personal bank accounts.
She has also filed a separate suit to challenge the dismissal from the party.
Anina's lawyer Hanif Khatri Abdullah said the application to freeze Najib's assets was filed at the Kuala Lumpur High Court registry this morning.
“The freezing of the assets under the Mareva injunction will remain until the disposal of the suit,” he said.
