Pandan MP Razifi Ramli today urged Datuk Irmohizam Ibrahim to check his facts and figures on the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Hospital project, saying that the RM800 million mentioned by the Kuala Selangor MP was “impossible”.
“I have seen the documents. Has he? I don’t think so. I am just afraid that he will be embarrassed when I reveal the documents later,” said Rafizi.
He said if Irmohizam still stood by his statement, the Umno man should ask Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to reveal the documents on the concession.
The PKR secretary-general said Irmohizam made the statement in Parliament yesterday.
UiTM had also refuted Rafizi’s claim that the government would spend RM8.2 billion for the UiTM Hospital project at its Puncak Alam campus.
It said the draft on the project was still being studied to ensure the welfare of UiTM.
Rafizi on Tuesday said the cost of the hospital should only be RM599 million but that the government had handed out the project for RM8.2 billion.
He said Putrajaya would award the contract for the construction of the hospital to a company held by an Umno-linked businessman.
Rafizi said today the cost to operate and manage the hospital would be much lower if it was managed by the institution of higher learning.
“If the cost is RM599 million, based on my calculation for 22 years, the concession is more than RM800 million.”
He urged Perkasa president Datuk Ibrahim Ali and UiTM’s board of directors to reject the proposal by the said company to protect the interests of the people.
