The Malaysian police will send a team to Thailand to interrogate Xavier Andre Justo on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar.
“They (Thai police) are now willing to welcome our officers to interrogate Justo,” he told reporters after a parade of cadet inspectors at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre in Kuala Lumpur today.
Justo was sentenced to three years' prison by a Bangkok criminal court on August 17 for blackmailing his former employer, PetroSaudi International, of 2.5 million Swiss francs (RM11 million) using stolen documents.
The 49-year-old Swiss became the focus of attention in Malaysia, following a joint venture between Petrosaudi and 1MDB.
On the meeting between PKR vice-president Nurul Izzah Anwar and Jacel Kiram, the daughter of self-style Sultan of Sulu Jamalul Kiram III, Khalid said the police would also summon Batu MP Chua Tian Chang to help investigations. – Bernama
